Geochemical Trends Reflecting Hydrocarbon Generation, Migration and Accumulation in Unconventional Reservoirs Based on Pyrolysis Data (on the Example of the Bazhenov Formation)

The current study is devoted to the determination and interpretation of geochemical trends reflecting hydrocarbon generation, migration accumulation in unconventional reservoirs; performed on Bazhenov shale rock formation (Western Siberia, Russia). Results are based more than 3000 Rock-Eval analyses samples from 34 wells drilled central part West Siberian petroleum basin, which characterized by common marine sedimentation environments. Pyrolysis studies were carried out before after extraction rocks organic solvent. As a result, we have improved accuracy kerogen content maturity complemented standard set pyrolysis parameters with heavy fraction hydrocarbons. data obtained for areas different matter was summarized form cross-plots diagrams evolution source beginning end oil window.
